Prem Rawat at Shri Ram College of Commerce | Sochne Ka Samay Hai Kya Hum Khush Hain ? | Sawal Jawab

‘This world is a supermarket.’ ‘And we are looking for
things we want.’ ‘The wants are so much that we grow
old by the time we have it all.’ ‘In order to fulfil our wants
we spend our entire life…’ ‘…collecting money…’ ‘…hoping for a beautiful life…’ ‘…with the money
we have collected.’ ‘And live a life
we always dreamt of.’ ‘In this supermarket…’ ‘…there are sellers
and buyers every day.’ ‘But doesn’t look like it is…’ ‘…making any profit for anyone.’ ‘Instead, we all end up… …in a loss disturbing our peace.’ ‘If you are going to suffer…’ ‘…then what is the
need to own anything?’ ‘Or is it that we are failing
to understand our needs? ‘And we are busy with things…’ ‘…that we assume are our needs.’ ‘So, first of all,
the question that arise is…’ ‘…what are our basic needs?’ In this entire world… …what are the
needs of a human? What are the necessities
of a human? Basic necessities. I am talking about things… …without which… …a human cannot survive. So… First of all he needs food. If a human fails… …to eat for almost 3 weeks… …then his body… …will shut down. He will die. A human needs oxygen to survive. If he doesn’t get
oxygen to breathe… …for around 3 to 5 minutes… Many claim that they can hold
their breath for even longer. But when you ask them
to hold their breath… …they will first
take a deep breath. No! Hold your breath after you
exhale all the oxygen. If you fill your lungs… …with oxygen, then… …you are still supplying
air to your body. There is oxygen. And your body needs water. Humans need water. If a human doesn’t get water
for around a week… …then that person will die. I’m talking about physical needs. Without which a person
will cease to exist. I’m not talking about television. Because if someone
dies of extreme hunger… …then there is a
medical term for that. It is called starvation. The cause of his
death is starvation. If someone dies due to
not drinking water… ..then that has a
medical term as well. That person died
due to dehydration. And if suppose someone dies… …due to lack of oxygen… …then there is a medical
term for that as well. It’s called suffocation. But if someone dies due
to not watching TV… …then there is no
medical term for that. Because TV is not a necessity. I am talking about
your necessities… …and your desires. It’s your desire to… ….watch TV, go for movies… …restaurants and attend parties. You want to do many
things including… …attending social functions. But the needs of your body… …is different. I mean to say… This is a school of commerce. And in commerce… …there is a need for demand… …and supply.
Those are the basics. If there is no demand but there
is supply, it’s pointless. And if it’s… …vice versa,
it’s pointless again. So, what I mean to say is… …is there a shortage of… …edible items in this world? Few of them who are here said ‘no’. They must have done their research. Because that is true. In fact… …tonnes of food grains… …are wasted. Are we short of oxygen? We are not short of oxygen. Are we short of water? No, we are not. These are three things… …that a person needs the most. All these are available. Right? Do you agree that
all three are available? Then what is the problem? Some are poor, some are rich. You call someone unfortunate… …or fortunate. Where did all this come from? Who discovered all these? God created… …nature. Nature gave us
water and oxygen. All these things are
available on our planet. Human took birth on this planet. And these essential things
that keep him alive… …are sufficient
for him to survive. What do you live for? Are you alive
to fulfil your ambitions? If you live for your wants… …then let me tell you, there
will be no end to your wants. There is no end to it. If you genuinely want
to be wealthy… …then first of all… …you need to be
wealthy from within. If you are poor from within… …then no matter how
much money you may have… …you will never be satisfied. You will remain poor. And what is your heart
asking you for? It is asking for peace. It is
asking to bring peace in your life. Understand the purpose
of your life. ‘Whether it’s the
rich or the poor…’ ‘…everyone wants profit in life.’ ‘But we are forgetting humanity
in the rat race of earning profit.’ ‘We are fighting each other.’ ‘As a result, we are heading
towards discontentment.’ ‘Or we could say, perhaps
we don’t understand peace.’ ‘So what is peace after all?’ If… …peace is absence of war… …there were situations
when there was no war. So how did a war break out
if there was peace? What is actually peace? We tend to make
a list of everything. We tend to make a
list of everything. Peace has become an objective. Whereas it has be subjective. Do you experience peace
in your life or not? I’m not talking about
momentary peace. I’m asking if there is peace… …in your life or not? Think about it. Think about it. Why are are you unable
to experience peace… …when it is right within you? Because you are busy making… …a list about what would
give you peace. You are busy defining peace. All the students here… …want that… The students in every
university want to… …study a lot and pass the exams. Somehow pass the exams. I said, study a lot.
It’s a different topic. Their objective is not studying… …but passing the exams. Often… …we make many plans… …at our young age… …and when the time comes… …to go through a test,
our heart starts beating faster… …and everyone goes… …to see… …the results. They see the result
with anticipation. ‘Whether I passed the test or not.’ ‘Whether I passed the test or not.’ If they passed, then it’s great. If not, then… If they secure good marks,
they’re sure to find a job. Am I right? So you’ve made a plan… …that you will work hard… …pass the exams… …get good grades
and find a job and then… …lead a happy life. But the reality is different. Your teachers won’t be there… …when you’ll go for work. There you will meet your boss. And… …you might’ve heard
in the Math class… …about 100 percent. There’s something
called 100 percent. 100 percent is 100 percent. But your boss will
teach you a new Math. That he wants 150 percent. Am I right? Now how will you get 150 percent? But you’ll have to get it anyway.
Because he’ll say… …you aren’t
trying hard enough. Try harder. But what was the plan?
Work hard now… …to have a good life later.
But instead, what happened? You’ve been working
hard since then. Now you’ll step further ahead. And another boss
will enter your life. If you are a male then… …a female boss
will enter your life. If you’re a female, a male
boss will enter your life. The boss at the
workplace is different. Here’s another boss. What will they say?
Focus on the relationship. 200 percent is required
for this as well. You’ve read about 100
percent in Math. But 200 percent is being
demanded from you. If you’ll walk a little further… …then yet another
boss will enter. They’re tiny bosses. The small boss… …would have different demands. They won’t let you sleep at night. They will make demands
whenever they want. You will then tell the other boss
in your life… …’darling, I have to go to
the office in the morning’. ‘How can I wake up from my
sleep and change the diaper?’ The other boss will say… …I’m sleepy, you do it. During all this, the third
boss will start screaming. And you will have
to do something about it. You will get up in the morning… …go the first boss. You will keep shuffling between… …all these bosses all your life. And then the fourth boss will… …enter your life. Do you know who that is? He has many names. He is known as Grim reaper… …and Yamraj as well. He will come and say… …100 percent… …I’ll take you away. Then you will say, I
haven’t done much yet. I’m still young.
This and that. I haven’t experienced my life much. I haven’t done much in life.
What’s going to happen now? What’s going to happen now? Think about it. Think about it. Knowing that, you have
to leave eventually… …you are living as if
you will never leave. How many days will that be if
you will live for 100 years? Only 36500 days. Not, 100,000. Only, 36500 days. Have you maintained… …the equilibrium in your life,
which you had to maintain? Have you understood… …what needs to be
understood in life? Have you attained peace… …that needs to be
attained in life? Is humanity the root cause… …of your life or is it
your ambition? What is the purpose
of your living? ‘If you have such questions,
you can message it to us.’ ‘Or can send it via What’s app.’ ‘Our phone number is 9971949879.’ ‘You can watch this episode
again on You Tube.’ ‘You can get connected to us
via Facebook or tweeter.’ ‘We wish to be rich in order
to stay happy in our lives.’ ‘Because we have been taught
since we were a kid…’ ‘…that you will be happy only
if you have enough money.’ ‘But why does it happen often… …that we’re unhappy
despite having money?’ The first and foremost
thing is humanity. Humanity should
exist in your life. And the greatest deed of humanity,
you should do it for yourself. Are you happy or not? You want to impress your teachers. You wish to impress your parents. You also wish to
impress your friends. But the biggest question is,
whether you are happy or not? If you are not happy… …how will you impress
your teachers? How will you impress your family? How will you impress your friends? Are you really happy or not? Agreed. The question I am asking is
somewhat complicated. It’s possible you may never
have thought over it. But you should start
thinking about it. If you really wish to be… …successful in your life… …so success begins now. Not later. It’s not the question of future,
the question is about this moment. Open the treasure of yours. Wherein lies your wealth. The wealth of your lifetime. The economies will rise, no doubt. It will also come down. Lot of times when I go
and talk to people… …about peace, the
people do not wish to… …listen anything about peace. But when the economy
goes down… …say whatever you have
to regarding peace. Yes, we need peace. The time when everything
was fine, no one had… …the time to listen about peace.
And as of now… Everyone is after peace. They want me to talk
about peace, why? And when I asked them
as to what happened… What is the matter? The thing is, a piece of paper… A piece of paper,
the cost of which was… …in thousands. The economy went down,
there was a recession. And the cost of the paper
diminished turning you poor. Nothing changed. It was just a piece of paper.
Nothing had changed much. There was no change at all.
Nothing at all! You were rich one fine day
and later you became poor. And if you keep on holding
to that piece of paper… …may be, you’ll become
rich again. But this circle
will keep moving. You will become rich,
you will become poor. One person gets rich someday,
another person gets poor. Everything is fine one fine day,
everything goes wrong the other. But you cannot live in this way. Your basic foundation! How strong is it? I am
talking about foundation. How strong is your foundation? And as far as making
your foundation… …strong is concerned… …peace befits it. Because the foundation which
has the element of peace… …you will find strength there. I am here to tell you that… …you should make your
foundation stronger. So that not only here… …but whatever you do even later, you become truly
successful in that. Because you have realized… …that the power of success
lies within you. ‘I want to know… I’m in
my forties.’ ‘I wish that in my region,’ ‘…people should know
about peace in detail.’ ‘As a representative
of the people from my place, how can we attain more
and more peace… …in our region?’ ‘I have already told you,
peace resides within us.’ ‘When we completely
know about ourself…’ ‘When you hold the mirror
facing yourself…’ …only then will you be able
to realize as to who you are.’
